^Lot 10a Allen Thurber & Co. PepperBox .31 Cal

Antique medium frame double-action-only six barrel pepperbox pistol chambered for .32 caliber ammunition, manufactured at the Worcester facility circa 1847-1865. Features fluted 4" barrels, bar style hammer with 1845 patent date, smooth trigger with triggerguard, scroll engraved nipple shield & frame, and two-piece varnished walnut 'bag' style grips. The frame, triggerguard, hammer spring and right grip panel are stamped "26". The barrels are marked "ALLEN THURBER & CO" & "WORCESTER" and the hammer is stamped "ALLEN'S PATENT/1845". Pistol exhibits an aged brown patina with scattered pin prick pitting and has minor traces of finish retained in the protected areas. Action is sound, the bores are clear, markings are crisp and the refinished wood grips are good.
